A Week Full of Worries

Each of us must confront our own fears, must come face to face with them. How we handle our fears will determine where we go with the rest of our lives. To experience adventure or to be limited by the fear of it.

Judy Blume

No matter how strong we look on the outside, everyone of us has fears.

Now, it is a matter of finding a way to face them. It doesn’t matter how big or small of a fear it is, we are all facing them. Problems aren’t new to us. All human beings go through the same craps.

If you were to ask me what happened on my week, I am to answer:

RAPPELLING HAPPENED.

Yes, my fear of heights happened. I don’t know why I am not scared of riding carnival rides when I am in an amusement park but this thing surely scared the crap out of me.

The fear of falling on your own.

The fear of letting go of the rope.

The fear of standing on a thin area.

The fear of not being able to hold onto your own lifeline.

Despite all of these, I have realized my worth as a person even more. I realized I didn’t want to die at this age yet. I realized I still have a lot of accomplishments to gain. I realized I still have a lot of fears to conquer.

So who am I to decline this opportunity to face my fears?

Life is so much more than holding onto things we got used to. Sir Fajardo made me realize the meaning behind “Sometimes you need to let go in order to keep on moving on.” Those words stunned me and slapped me on my face that this is not yet the end of me.

He said words I would never forget.

“Rappelling tells you that life is a matter of facing your problems while knowing the solutions already. It is your choice when to face them.”

The problem is my fear of heights. And the only solution is facing them, hanging while holding onto the rope and letting go of everything except your lifeline. Isn’t knowing all these such a blessing already? Why not take that idea into so much more? Why not do it?

ABM SUMMIT 2020

SMC Participants

The first ever ABM Summit organized by MSU-IIT JPIA has concluded! Honestly, the event was not as organized as I expected it to be, but I really enjoyed this day. The emcee said one of the objectives of this event is not just to represent our schools but rather, to mingle with others and enjoy the rest of the day as we treat it as a break from the stressful life.

SIR UNDE, THANK YOU!
Sir Unde is not just any ordinary man. He is the best. No, that’s even an understatement. He is more than the best. I have this thought in my head that Swerte kayng ABM kay naay Sir Unde”. Sana all JUNDE.

I worried about how this event would go. I joined two contests along with the same partner, Christy Ortega. One contest in the morning and another in the afternoon.

Partners!

Meet my partner, Christy! One of the most humble persons I met. I admire you for being so caring at the same time very sensitive toward things that matter. To more contests with you before this school year ends! By the way, she won 2nd Runner Up in Cup 1: Business Mathematics and Statistics during the ABM Summit

Fortunately, I won 2nd Runner Up in Cup 4: Business Finance too! It was never easy to sit there for around an hour and listen to questions involving a lot of computations without having an idea how to do them because most of them weren’t discussed yet and some of them are not part of our curriculum guide as Sir Unde said. We struggled a lot both in Cups 1 and 4 but yes, we did it!

More people to flex!

They don’t only give me happiness but we celebrate the success of each other too! I can’t wait till we have that CPA title after our names and wear these attires everyday in work.

Seatmate goals!

Donnaleen Mingo (Champion for Whizkids Competition along with Navidad and Flores)
Princess Diapera (1st RU for Cup 6: Basic Accounting)
Schnider Mutia (2nd RU for Cup 4: Business Finance)

Mini Photoshoot

Of course, in the middle of stress, we surely know how to seek for fun! We had a short pictorial looking kinda gangster, kinda not because we’re pretty enough to be considered models. Char! If you know someone hiring for models of corporate attires, we’re free! Lol.

EXAMINATION WEEK

Rappelling.
ABM Summit 2020
And now, exams.

Time runs real fast. This February 2020, we have a busy schedule. There is always an activity after an activity, it never ended.

The next thing we knew…

…it’s gonna be our graduation day! It’s a combination of both happiness and sadness. Whenever I think about this event, I feel happy happy to finally rest after a loooong school year, but at the same time sad because I feel like 10 months is too short for Lucy to bond together. The memories we made will surely be with me till the rest of my life. I love you, Lucy!

This will be the last post for this blog! Thank you for staying with me!

Schnider A. Mutia, signing off.
